My name is Melinda Summers and for 36 years I have worked in Obstetrics as a Surgical Technologist. When I first started in the medical field in 1980, OR scrubs and hats were so bland. Over time as medical equipment evolved, so did OR attire.
When our patients come into the OR, they always enjoy seeing the fun and colorful surgical hats. I truly believe this makes the sterile cold environment seem a little more friendly and inviting.
I started making Surgical hats 2 years ago and have loved the whole process from shopping for beautiful fabric ( my favorite part) to cutting, pinning and sewing. I am in the process of turning a guest bedroom into a sewing studio ( pictures coming soon).
